CHAMBER MUSIC PROGRAM, FESTIVAL CONCERTS


  • AMEROPA offers music students as well as professional and amateur musicians the two weeks opportunity of intensive chamber music study, in-house performances and public concerts at interesting venues.
  • AMEROPA will provide for all registered students chamber music rehearsals and coachings, master classes, lectures and concerts.
  • Participants will be placed in several chamber ensembles. Chamber music groups will be assigned based on audio or video samples or a faculty recommendation. The goal is to have unified chamber music skills and experience within each group.
  • Although we motsly focus on the classical chamber ensembles (string quartet, piano trio, wind quintet), different combinations are also supported. The ensembles will include combinations of the following instruments: piano, harp, strings, woodwinds and horn. Vocal students are welcome to be included in chamber ensembles. Pre-formed ensembles are welcome, but not required.
  • Performance opportunities will be provided, according to group readiness and program considerations.
  • Solo playing is taught in Ameropa solo masterclass, which takes place in Brandýs nad Labem. During the Ameropa Chamber Course, there are no solo lessons possible.

CHAMBER MUSIC ASSIGNMENT
ASSEMBLING OF THE CHAMBER GROUPS


  • Please inform us, if your recordings are available in YouTube, or submit a recording containing two contrasting movements on your major instrument before end of April. Preferred are recordings in digital format MP3, put it to special area in Ameropa wepage - participant's area click here »»
  • After the application deadline, our Ameropa organizational staff will assemble chamber groups from registered participants using their recordings or faculty recommendation based on "classification scale" from the application form. Ensembles will be assigned according to level of playing, age and performing experience. In addition, the applicant's preferences will be taken into consideration.
  • In early June, the applicants will receive information from Ameropa, which will include the applicant’s ensembles as well as repertory assignments.
  • Ameropa expects that all participants will make arrangements to have their own music materials in order to be able to study music parts and scores in advance of the official start of the festival. Please remember that if each ensemble member comes to Ameropa well prepared, the whole experience for the ensemble, and the chances for more performance opportunities are increased.

OPPORTUNITY FOR AMATEUR AND YOUNG MUSICIANS


  • For these players, Ameropa will provide opportunity to rehearse and perform with colleagues of the same level. Their ensembles will be carefully chosen and established according to ability and performing desires conveyed in the application form. Amateur and young musicians will also have the opportunity to performing in Ameropa concerts. Please make sure to evaluate your abilities appropriately in the Ameropa application form.

INDIVIDUAL AND SOLO LESSONS


  • We recommend strongly that the applicant considers participation in the Solo Week Master Classes program, especially if he / she desires intensive solo studies. For information click here »»

Ameropa offers this OPTIONAL POSSIBILITY


  • Instruments to rent - viola, cello, harp, double bass are possible to rent during both solo and chamber courses.
  • Transportation to and from the airport, railway or bus stations in Prague and Brandys nad Labem (for Solo Master Classes participants).
  • For participants arriving early and/or departing later than the festival dates Ameropa will help with booking accommodations, based on availability (bed and breakfast).
  • An optional guided sightseeing tour of Prague on Saturday or Sunday, July 21, 2019.
  • All concerts and events during Ameropa programs and international music festival Prague, classics.. are covered by tuitions (active, passive).
  • In case, you do not pay Ameropa tuition and attend Ameropa concerts, please buy tickets at the door.
  • If you are guests and would like to use Ameropa transportation, share meails and common dinners with your children or friends please pay in advance in the office. You will help us make the festival and courses possible.

ACCOMMODATIONS


LANGUAGES


  • The official languages of the course are English and Czech.

CLOTHING


  • Informal for all occasions except participation in concerts, where formal dress code is required.
  • We recommend, that passive participants and parents will have appropriate attire and behaviour in all concerts if they will be in the audience.
  • We are requesting not make any photos and / or videos recording without office agreement.

PERSONAL INSURANCE


  • We recommend that all participants have a personal travel and health insurance for their trip as well as instrument insurance.

MUSIC, MUSIC STANDS


  • Participants are requested to bring chamber music parts, for solo lessons also piano accompany parts of their solo repertory are necessary.
  • For help and assistance contact your ensemble members, faculties, Ameropa management or Ameropa librarian in advance, before you will come to Ameropa. Ameropa will prepare only music material for orchestra, and in case, your group will be decided later, or in during Ameropa.
  • Ameropa will help with most of music in advance, and link will be sent to ensembles. Please, bring your music already printed!
  • If possible, bring your own music stands. Some music stands will be available in the office for rent, or possibly for sale.

PASSIVE PARTICIPANTS PROGRAM


  • For PASSIVE PARTICIPANTS Ameropa offers an opportunity to participate in all Ameropa programs, just without active playing.
  • You will be provided with hotel accommodation and lunches. For Czech participants, tuition doesn't cover accommodation, which will be arrange separately.
  • If you wish to participate in AMEROPA Chamber as a passive participant, you can register for two weeks, or for one week (either from July 21 to July 28, or from July 29 to August 4, 2019).
  • Ameropa also offers extra hotel booking apart from the chosen week: please fill in the dates of your arrival and departure and choose the type of accommodation in application.
  • Embark upon a fascinating exploration of Czech history and cultural heritage. Discover the many architectural and musical beauties of Prague, once called "The Florence of the North", with optional sightseeing tour. Share the excitement of attending concerts by Ameropa’s world-class faculty and its talented student performers. Join us on a trips on Sunday (August 4) to Kutná Hora, with possibility to visit Unesco places and orchestra evening performances.
  • We welcome parents of the youth participants, who have special price for attending Ameropa program.

  • The application deadline for active participants is April 15, 2019.
  • Later applications are possible for formed ensembles. For late registering applicants, AMEROPA cannot totally guarantee that all their individual needs can be met. These orders will be arranged individually, with the results depending on the actual situation.

TRAVEL INFORMATION, EXTRA ACCOMMODATION


  • If you ask for optional transportation from/to the airport, train/bus station in Prague to the Festival destinations, deadline is end of June.
  • If you need extra accommodation prior and after courses, deadline is end of June. For later requests Ameropa can't guarantee that all needs can be met.
  • Please fill out the information in online application form. Optional needs (travel and accommodation) can be changed in the participant's area untill end of June.
